SCOTT SAUER
(he/him)

Scott Sauer was afraid of the dark until he was fifteen years old.

He’s not ashamed to admit it. His fear of the dark was born of a fertile imagination, and a bizarrely masochistic need to immerse himself in horror narratives even though they only planted the seeds of further nightmares. Lying in the dark of his bedroom, staring at the open black doorway, he could conjure a million grotesque things that might be lurking in the shadows just beyond the threshold of thin moonlight.

Maybe that’s why he feels compelled to write horror now.

Have to exorcise those demons somehow.

As a former technology sales associate, Scott would sometimes use the demo computers to sneak a few snippets of stories he would later email to himself.  Now he’s dedicated to turning those snippets into full-fledged stories, and exploring horror that chills by drawing on deep-rooted human fears.

Scott’s favorite authors are Laird Barron, Mira Grant, Stephen Graham Jones, and Paolo Bacigalupi.

He is also, most of the time, the Blue Absinthe Books website, email, and social media admin, and often formatter and cover designer.
